Commentary:

I was captivated by the chromatic spectral properties of holographic papers and films which had recently become available. Fiat Lux combines these into a construction that was designed to explore their capability, particularly in combination with interference pigments.

I have used a sculpted surface in an attempt to modulate the colour displayed by the paper elements. The central form has an abstract mouth-shaped notch on the righthand side with some of the lightest value colour behind it and emanating from it; hence, the title.
